About DCSS

DCSS Mission

The objectives of the Society are to promote sociological research, education and discussion, to facilitate cooperative exchanges among persons and organizations engaged in sociological research and teaching, to encourage young sociologists and students, and to increase the contribution of sociology to human welfare.

Leadership

DCSS is an all-volunteer organization led by elected officers (president, secretary, treasurer, and editor of The Sociologist) and an executive committee. (See more)

Awards

DCSS presents awards for outstanding sociological achievement, the use of public sociology by a community organization, and for outstanding graduate student papers. (See more)

History

DCSS was founded in 1934 and has a rich history. (See more)
