"RSF is pleased to announce the launch of a new video series focused on the real-world contributions of social science to improving people's lives. In the videos, social scientists discuss the motivations behind their research to show that rigorously conducted social science is not just about studying social problems, it's about understanding them deeply enough to help solve them. In one set of videos, "Powered by Social Science," each short episode focuses on a single social problem – in the first episode, how unpredictable work schedules hurt workers – and illustrates how the insights of social science helped inform Fair Work Week laws, which led to more reliable schedules and better conditions for workers."
