Over 14,000 people in the D.C. region are losing Medicaid this month. Many are legal immigrants

WAMU (Oct 21)

"Residents across D.C., Maryland, and Virginia received letters in October saying they no longer qualify for Medicaid, according to KFF Health News.

"Many are legal immigrants – including refugees fleeing war, interpreters who worked with service members in Afghanistan and survivors of sex trafficking. They are among the first people losing government health coverage under changes made to Medicaid through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed by Congress last year."
