    The Washington Center for Equitable Growth is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Request for Proposals: Research grants for early career scholars. Applications are due January 21, 2025.

    Equitable Growth seeks to invest in early career scholars whose research agendas are policy relevant and related to how inequality affects economic growth, and who are interested in engaging with policy audiences. Early career grants are open to researchers affiliated with a U.S. university whose Ph.D. was issued within the past 8 years, as well as graduate students currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program at a U.S. university.

    Note: These fellowships are sponsored through The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI).

    The James Marshall Public Policy Postdoctoral Fellowship (applications due January 2, 2025): The SPSSI James Marshall Public Policy Fellowship trains early career scientists to 1) contribute to the effective use of scientific knowledge about social issues in the formation of public policy at the federal level; 2) educate the scientific community about how research can contribute to the development of public policy; and 3) establish a more effective liaison between social scientists and various policymaking mechanisms.     Dalmas A. Taylor Memorial Summer Policy Fellowship (application deadline for Summer 2025 is February 1, 2025): This predoctoral fellowship honors the memory of Dalmas A. Taylor, who passed away during his term as President of SPSSI. Dr. Taylor had been involved for many years with SPSSI. In addition, he was instrumental in establishing the Minority Fellowship Program at the American Psychological Association and in increasing APA’s attention to the inclusion of people of color.

    Applicants must be currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited doctoral program in psychology or a related field. In addition, they must have demonstrated a commitment to a career with a focus on ethnic minority issues. Applicants should not have completed their doctoral program by the time they begin the fellowship. (See complete details and application instructions on the SPSSI website.)

    The application for the 2025-2026 Obama Foundation Scholars Program at Columbia University is now open. Applications close December 16.

    Obama Foundation Scholars at Columbia University participate in an immersive program on Columbia’s campus in New York City that brings together academic, skills-based and experiential learning, designed by Columbia University in consultation with the Obama Foundation.

    The Obama Foundation’s Leaders program is for 24-45-year-old emerging leaders working in government, civil society, and the private sector who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the common good. The program aims to inspire, empower, and connect regional cohorts of changemakers to accelerate positive and lasting change in their communities and throughout their region and across our world. Applications close December 18.

    The Dissertation Research Grants program supports innovative and high-quality dissertation research that addresses questions relevant to any of RSF’s priority areas:  Behavioral Science and Decision Making in Context; Future of Work; Race, Ethnicity and Immigration; Immigration and Immigrant Integration; and Social, Political, and Economic Inequality.

    Proposed projects must be closely aligned with the funding priorities listed on the RSF website for any of these areas, contribute to RSF's mission to improve social and living conditions in the U.S., and demonstrate appropriate use of relevant theory, innovative data, rigorous research methods, and measures. The proposal deadline is February 4, 2025, for funding starting in September 2025. Learn more about the Dissertation Research Grants program on the RSF website.

    RSF staff will discuss the Dissertation Research Grants application process at a webinar on January 7, 2025, at 2PM ET.

    The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin is one of the leading supercomputing centers in the world, supporting advances in computational research by thousands of researchers and students. TACC’s STEM Evaluation Services provides research and evaluation services to internal and external entities to help advance their STEM education research, outreach, and impact.

    This position will be responsible for developing and implementing formative and summative evaluations of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education related projects, research grants, and contracted evaluation services.

    The American Educational Research Association (AERA) invites applications for the Undergraduate Student Education Research Training Workshop to be held Wednesday, April 22 through Saturday, April 26 during the 2025 AERA Annual Meeting in Denver. This workshop is for undergraduate students who are interested in pursuing a graduate or professional degree that can lend itself to education research areas such as children and youth, school and schooling issues, higher education, education policy, student achievement, curriculum and instruction, education psychology, or education leadership. Students must have current or ongoing research that can be presented in a poster session.

    The award includes conference registration and three nights of lodging at a designated hotel. The fellows and/or their home institutions are responsible for transportation costs to Denver. Most meals are part of the Workshop activities.

    The Society for Research Development (SRCD) is accepting applications for their U.S Policy Fellowship Program. This fellowship provides postdoctoral placements for postdoctoral child development experts for one to two years in a US federal or state agency, or a congressional agency, with a focus on child and family policy.

    "As one of several high-profile U.S. Department of State diversity recruitment programs, the Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellowship seeks to attract top technology talent to the Foreign Service that reflects the diversity of the United States. Based on the fundamental principle that diversity is a strength in our diplomatic efforts, the FAIT Fellowship program values varied backgrounds, including ethnic, racial, gender, and geographic diversity.  Women, members of minority groups underrepresented in the Foreign Service, and those with financial need, are encouraged to apply.
