    The Phi Beta Kappa Society national office in Washington, DC is looking for three part-time interns to work on a variety of projects in three different departments: Communications, Events & Advocacy, and Programs & Member Engagement.

    Phi Beta Kappa is now accepting online applications for its Key into Public Service scholarship. The program connects undergraduate arts and sciences majors with pathways into local, state, and federal government service. The Society will select 20 successful applicants who will receive $5,000 academic scholarships and participate in an educational conference experience in Washington, D.C. that will provide them with training, mentoring, and resources on pathways into public service careers. Phi Beta Kappa membership is not required, but students must attend a Phi Beta Kappa chapter institution and have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

    The Stone Center for Inequality Dynamics at the University of Michigan is now accepting applications for a visiting fellow for the 2024‒25 academic year. The fellowship provides an early-career social scientist with funded time to pursue their research in an intellectual community with a culture of engagement and collaboration.     Evidence Action is a global nonprofit organization with an approach distinctive in international development: they exclusively scale interventions that are backed by strong evidence and can be delivered with exceptional cost-effectiveness. The MLE Strategy team optimizes Evidence Action’s evidence-based, cost-effective programming through versatile and right-fit monitoring and evaluation solutions and insights. 

    The Senior Manager will play a key role in supporting Evidence Action’s DtWI and IFA Supplementation programs. They will manage the global MLE work for these programs with guidance from the DtWI and IFA Program Directors. This role will be located in Washington DC.

    IPUMS seeks a Data Analyst with a strong data-driven social science or public health background. The primary focus of this position is to produce web-based resources, interactive dashboards, reports, and data analysis resources applying international IPUMS health survey data for science and policy. Time is also allocated for coordinating related data analysis projects and timelines. Most of this research will employ data from countries in sub-Saharan Africa. This position is eligible for fully remote, hybrid, or fully onsite work arrangements.

    The Cokie Roberts Research Fund for Women’s History will award up to $12,500 to support annual fellowships for applicants who will perform new research at the National Archives to elevate women’s history. The Fund will support one to three annual fellowships for emerging and established historians, journalists, authors, or graduate students who perform and publish new research to elevate women’s history using the records held by the National Archives. 

    Application Window: November 1, 2023 through May 15, 2024

    RAND's Summer Associate Program introduces outstanding graduate students in sociology and demography or related fields to the RAND Corporation, an institution that conducts research on a wide range of domestic and international social policy issues as well as national security problems.

    The summer 2024 program will be a hybrid model including in-person work at one of RAND’s four offices (including DC) with remote flexibility or working fully remote from where you live.

    The National Science Foundation is seeking qualified candidates for a Social Scientist (Program Director) within the Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NCSES) in Alexandria, VA.

    The Science, Technology and Innovation Analysis (STI-A) Program Director plans, administers, and evaluates the overall STI-A program area. This position oversees all of NCSES analysis products and staff, including the creation, production, and dissemination of two congressionally mandated reports: Science and Engineering Indicators and STEM and Diversity: Women, Minorities, and Persons with Disabilities.

    Wayne State University (Detroit, MI) invites applications for a Public Health Pre-Faculty Fellow to be appointed as a full-time post-doctoral scholar in the Department of Public Health beginning in August 2024. This fellowship involves an initial three-year appointment subject to the successful outcome of annual reviews. They seek an active and engaged colleague with demonstrated research, teaching, and service interests in eliminating health disparities and social inequalities.

    The Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad program provides U.S. educators in the arts, social sciences and humanities with opportunities to participate in short-term seminars abroad to improve their understanding and knowledge of the peoples and cultures of other countries. In 2024 summer seminars will be offered in Finland, Thailand, and Colombia.
