Senior Programs Associate, ASA

The American Sociological Association is hiring a Senior Programs Associate. This position reports to the Director of Programs and Research. 

Selected duties:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate the association’s portfolio of virtual programs supporting the teaching, research, practice, and professional development of sociologists. 
  • In consultation with the Executive Director and Director of Programs and Research, manage the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP), including application and review processes, Advisory Panel coordination, fellow engagement and professional development, and Annual Meeting programming. 
  • Manage the Honors Program, including application administration, Advisory Panel coordination, orientation planning, and Annual Meeting programming. 
  • Serve as liaison to the TRAILS editor and editorial board and provide administrative support. 
  • In consultation with the Director of Programs and Research, identify, pursue, and manage grants and external funding opportunities that support programming and special initiatives. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA in sociology or a related discipline  
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-MA experience in an academic setting 
  • Demonstrated experience with developing and implementing educational and/or professional development content 
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate a network of sociology experts 
  • Experience managing multiple projects and/or programs simultaneously, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
