"To encourage reuse of our data, Pew Research Center, with support from the John Templeton Foundation, invites researchers to submit proposals for new research publications that use one or more of the following datasets (collectively, Datasets) from the Global Religious Futures (GRF) project:

• Global Restrictions on Religion 2007-2022 dataset.
• Spring 2024 Survey. 
• Dataset of Global Religious Composition Estimates for 2010 and 2020. 

"We encourage researchers to analyze these datasets for studies to be presented at social science conferences in 2026 and for subsequent publication in academic journals and other media.

"We will provide compensation in the amount of $3,000 each for up to 19 researchers to create publications using data from the Datasets. Researchers should submit proposals by March 2, 2026. We will notify selected applicants by March 31."

"The Kohli Prize for Sociology honors exceptional achievement in and contributions to the field and profession of sociology. The Kohli Prize is rewarded with 50.000 EUR. It is awarded by an international Selection Committee composed of the Board of Directors, the Board of Trustees and two additional members from other world regions.

"The Infrastructure Prize for Sociology honors substantial infrastructures that advance sociological knowledge. The prize is rewarded with 10.000 EUR. The nominee must have made a substantial impact on infrastructures that advance sociological knowledge. Such infrastructures can serve for data generation (e.g., large cross-national surveys), data preservation (e.g., archives), knowledge dissemination (e.g., learning platforms), fundamental research (e.g., setting up research institutes), or knowledge communication (e.g., science journalism). Persons, projects or organizations can be nominated.

"The Kohli Foundation for Sociology is accepting international nominations for both prizes. A nomination can be submitted by a scholar based at any institution of higher learning and research (University, research institution, Academy of sciences). Self-nominations and posthumous nominations are not accepted. The nominations are confidential and should not be shared with the nominee prior to or after their submission."

"The MPC Training Program in Population Health Science at the University of Minnesota produces scientists who understand complex health problems and health disparities resulting from multiple interacting layers of influence that unfold over chronological, biological, and historical time. The program features cross-training in the biology and etiology of disease as well as in the social sciences, including engaging in independent and collaborative population health research supervised by interdisciplinary teams of faculty; coursework in population health science, population modeling, and the responsible conduct of research; and intensive professional socialization designed to integrate trainees from diverse disciplinary backgrounds and prepare them to have outstanding careers as population health scientists.

"The positions provide up to two years of training for postdoctoral fellows and include a stipend at the appropriate National Institutes of Health (NIH) level, financial support for travel to scientific conferences, and opportunities to apply for other research-related financial support as needed. Research goals should align with NICHD's Population Dynamics Branch (PDB)'s priorities."

"The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program hosts twelve very select undergraduates from around the United States for 8 weeks during the summer and introduces them to careers in social science through an intense program to conduct research that contributes to our scientific understanding of race and ethnicity and the demography of the criminal justice system with relevance for research, policy, and practice. The program features seminars on racial and ethnic differences in exposure to and impacts of criminal justice contact and educational, economic, health, political, and social inequalities of the U.S. population. In addition to the seminars, REU participants will be introduced to research ethics and  different methods of inquiry on the causes and consequences of justice system involvement at the UT Population Research Center (PRC).

"This program is open to US citizens and permanent residents. Undergraduates who have completed requirements for sophomore or junior standing are eligible to apply, with the ideal time for REU being the summer between the junior and senior year. We would like to encourage applications from students who are currently enrolled in undergraduate programs in the social sciences and adjacent fields and from groups historically underrepresented in graduate education. We would like to encourage applications from undergraduates at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic Serving Institutions (HIS) in Texas, and students who have been acutely impacted by the criminal justice system. "The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) seeks undergraduate students for the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program.

"You must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident able to provide proof on your application. You must be a full-time undergraduate student in an accredited two-year or four-year college in the U.S. First-year undergraduates and graduating seniors (seniors participating in the Winter or Spring Commencement) are eligible and encouraged to apply to the program.

"In 2026, we expect to provide $7,810 for the 11-week summer stipend ($710 per week). If you’re participating in person, you’ll need to find your own housing. We will share a list of affordable housing options when you’re selected. Limited financial assistance for housing ($4,500) and travel (up to $500) is available for students who need to relocate for the summer.
